Itinerary

Leave the Edinburgh Bus Station at 9.00am and head north to Stirling and
the towering Wallace Monument with stunning views of the Castle. We enter the Highlands heading through wild Rannoch Moor and Glencoe and on to the fishing port of Oban. (Overnight: Oban)

Take the steam train from Fort William and discover why this spectacular trip has been voted the best train journey in the world by Wanderlust Magazine. Cross the Glenfinnan viaduct featured in the Harry Potter movies and take in the sweeping views of Loch Shiel. We arrive in Mallaig and take the ferry ‘Over the Sea to Skye’. (Overnight: Portree)

We explore more of the magical Isle of Skye with its awe-inspiring mountains, stunning coastline, myths and legends before returning to the mainland. On the way to Loch Ness, we stop at the incredibly photogenic Eilean Donan Castle and wind our way along the Great Glen to Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands. (Overnight: Inverness)

Hunt for the elusive monster with a cruise on Loch Ness before turning northward to the stunning beauty of the north-west Highlands. We take in the beautiful town of Beauly with its Priory dating back to 1230, and then it's into the rugged and isolated mountains that secure Scotland's place as one of the last great wilderness in Europe. Learn a bit more about whisky and develop a greater appreciation for its flavour when tasted. Then, it will be time to head back to Inverness for the evening. (Overnight: Inverness)

We explore Culloden Battlefield, the scene of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s defeat back in 1746 then the
mysterious chamber cairns of Clava Cairns; which inspired the hit TV series Outlander. We visit the Highland Folk Museum to get a real taste of Highland life from the past centuries before heading to Dunkeld with its mighty cathedral, on our way back to Edinburgh.
